Brius Technologies Introduces Enhanced Comfort Features for Its Brava® System, Revolutionizing Hidden, Back-of-the-Teeth Orthodontic Treatment

Dallas, TX — Brius Technologies (BRIUS®), continues to elevate orthodontic care with enhancements to its biomechanically advanced Brava® system, featuring Independent Movers® technology. This innovative back-of-the-teeth system straightens crooked teeth with unmatched speed and efficiency while prioritizing patient comfort and aesthetics.

The Brava appliance now incorporates a specially engineered resin coating designed to improve patient acceptance by softening the contact between the appliance and the tongue. This new feature complements the light, continuous forces of the system’s pre-programmed arms, which independently and simultaneously move teeth based on the doctor’s 3D treatment plan to correct a wide range of orthodontic malocclusions.

“With all tooth-moving forces coming from the back side of the teeth, the new resin coating on the Brava appliance provides a gentler experience for the tongue during treatment,” said Ruedger Rubbert, Chief Technology Officer at Brius Technologies. “This innovation combines the benefits of nickel titanium’s shape memory properties with a resin coating that smooths surfaces that touch the tongue—a unique feature unmatched by any other orthodontic system.”

In August 2023, Brius Technologies also enhanced the Brava appliance’s anchorage base with a beveled edge to further improve comfort. “The combination of rounded edges and the new soft coating has significantly increased patient acceptance and reduced the adjustment period by several weeks,” explained Jeffrey Smith, Director of Product Development at Brius Technologies. “While any orthodontic system requires an initial adjustment period, our improvements ensure that patients acclimate faster than ever before.”

The Brava System stands out as a clinically efficient and aesthetically superior alternative to traditional orthodontic solutions like metal braces and plastic aligners. Unlike plastic aligners, which often require 20–50 stages and frequent adjustments, Brava achieves results with only one or two stages for most treatments. “Brava represents a breakthrough in orthodontic care, combining biomechanical efficiency with unparalleled aesthetics and comfort,” said Rubbert. “From the moment they are engaged, all teeth move simultaneously in multiple directions, minimizing treatment time and maximizing patient comfort.”
