ADJUSTMENT PERIOD

Congratulations on starting your journey towards a healthy smile! Like traditional braces and aligners, there is an adjustment period with Brava. Your teeth are beginning to move and, just like wearing a new pair of shoes or starting a new workout routine, your body needs 2-3 weeks to adjust.

As you adjust to your new Brava, it’s normal to experience some discomfort. This should subside within a couple of weeks. However, everyone is different. So, adjustment periods will vary. Here are some things you can do to enhance your comfort:

  • EAT soft foods
  • DRINK plenty of water
  • SWISH with Medicated mouthwash
  • RINSE with warm salt water
  • COMFORT products like wax
  • TAKE pain relievers, if necessary
By the end of the first week, the initial discomfort had faded. Each day brought less irritation and more confidence. I could eat more comfortably, speak more clearly, and best of all, smile without reservation.

SPEECH

Brava may cause a change in your speech. Don’t worry, this is only temporary! Your brain is amazing and will adapt in no time.

I was initially apprehensive about starting treatment with Brava. To my surprise, I was speaking clearly and confidently in no time.

EATING

Unlike aligners that need to be removed before eating, drinking or snacking Brava allows you to enjoy your meals without any restrictions.

However, foods that are hard, sticky and chewy can cause damage and should be avoided.

I'd heard stories about people getting food stuck in their braces that everyone could see. But with Brava, I did not have to worry about that.

BRUSHING & FLOSSING

Brava's innovative design doesn't use traditional wires, allowing patients to maintain regular brushing and flossing without any interference.

Maintaining good oral hygiene is extremely important for the success of your treatment. A water flosser is an essential tool for keeping your Brava clean and removing food and plaque from hard-to-reach areas.
