Brius Introduces New Services

Posted on September 30th, 2008 in Specials & Promotions | No Comments »

Greetings All,

In response to customer requests, we’ve decided to launch two brand new services to Brius customers.

Urchin Statistics - a web analytics software.  Think AWStats, on steroids.  It’s very much like Google Analytics, but Urchin analyzes your log files, instead of tracking your visitors via Javascript, which can slow down your site’s loading times.

Barracuda Spam Firewall protection — provides comprehensive spam and virus protection for your domain’s email.  All email is filtered before being delivered to your accounts.

These services will be available via your Brius control panel.  All customers who have requested these services have been contacted, and if we missed you, we’re sorry :)  Use coupon code 30free when ordering, to demo these services free for 30 days.

Is there something else that you’re looking for, that we’re not currently providing?  Please let us know! We’d love to hear your feedback.

All the best,

Greg

Server migration - echo.brius.com

Posted on September 6th, 2008 in Important Announcements, Server Announcements | No Comments »

Greetings All,

We are in the process of migrating all accounts on echo.brius.com to upgraded hardware in our Chicago facility. For our shared hosting customers, you have already been migrated, and you do not have to take any action. All resellers who have custom nameservers will need to update their domain’s A records for their nameservers, and make the necessary updates at your domain registrar. Please drop in a ticket at our Support Desk for assistance with this.

We thank you all for your continued support, and as always please do let us know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Greg

Brius Logo Pack

Posted on June 22nd, 2008 in Important Announcements | No Comments »

Ah, it’s about time.

I’ve been tweaking and reworking the Brius logo for ages now. Some may not notice much of a difference, but to designers who care about pixel perfection, you’ll notice a lot.

I’ve now finalized the Brius logo and am releasing the Brius Logo Pack today.

You will find that the .rar file contains 7 different files, both .PNG and .PSD. You have several variations of it, including black and white, and color versions of both the full logo and icon only. I’ve also included a “powered by” image so that our existing clients can tag their site. These are all high resolution copies, and you will need to resize them to fit. Though that’s a good thing since it’ll continue to retain it’s sharpness.

You’re welcome to play around with these logos and get creative with them…actually, we encourage the creativity. But if you want to add things to the logo, we ask that you please contact us for permission. And of course, if you aren’t sure, you can ask us anyways. If you do use the logos in a creative way, tell us! We’ll probably blog about it if we like it :)

This is all in an effort to continue improvement our growing affiliate program, something we’re going to be focusing a lot on this Summer. If you aren’t already an affiliate, you may want to consider doing so as we’re giving away $10 just for signing up. Furthermore, our affiliates earn a flat rate commission of $10 per sign up - of any package, of any duration. No more of that mumbo jumbo, “25%” per sign up, since that is usually only pennies change to you. And the more referrals you bring, the higher your commission rate increases, with a chance to earn up to $75 per sign up, but it all depends on what you can do.

If you’re interested in the affiliate program, click here.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent. This post isn’t supposed to be about our affiliate program, we’re actually relaunching that in the coming weeks, but it is active, it is working, and we are rewarding our affiliates. There are some media packs uploaded, but not much - we’re working on it. In the mean time, back on track - the Brius Logo Pack is uploaded, and waiting for all you eager web designers and developers to give them a spin.

Here’s an example of what’s in the logo pack:

Black & White Version

Okay, I think that’s all.

Download Brius Logo Pack.

Have an awesome Summer, and check back in about 24 hours. We got a nice surprise for everyone.

All the best,
Greg

What are we missing?

Posted on June 11th, 2008 in Feedback | 2 Comments »

We try our best at Brius to keep you with up to the date software and hardware. But, from time to time we like to go to the public and get your feedback on what we may be missing.

Is there anything that you think we should have that we don’t? As our relaunch approaches we are open to any new ideas, comments, or concerns.

Thanks always for the continued support,

Greg

Around 12:25am EST we rebooted echo.brius.com for some periodic maintenance. Just wanted to give everybody a heads up if you had trouble accessing your site momentarily. All is well now.

Thanks for your continued support,

Greg

We’re Always Sponsoring

Posted on May 28th, 2008 in Important Announcements | No Comments »

We love the Web.

And we absolutely love the people who continue to enhance it.  Whether it’s through brilliant designs and clean code, beautifully written words of a blogger, or intuitive applications, we support those who make it their mission to conquer the web.

Keeping with tradition, Brius has always been one to support its community.  One way we do this is through sponsorships with our clients.  We’re always looking for projects, portfolios, businesses, blogs, whatever - to provide absolutely free hosting.  We pick our sponsorships not because they can’t afford our hosting, but because we want to go out of our way, so you don’t have to.

Unfortunately, we can’t sponsor everyone.  And because of that, we provide sponsorships only to those who are really doing their thing on the web.  While we don’t have any requirements, and anyone and everyone is encouraged to apply (whether or not you’re a current client), we do have to draw the line somewhere.  What Dave and I have decided on, is to sponsor those websites that have made, or can make an impact.

So if you’re a blogger, designer, business owner, web developer, application programmer, or what ever else - and you think you’d make a great Brius partner, we’d love to hear from you.  You don’t have to be a hot shot, or someone with a sob story.  We want great material.  We want awesome stories.  We want partners who are just as passionate about the web as we are, and if we can see that in your web presence then we’d love to sponsor you.

So drop us a line - we’re game to listen to anyone.  Write us a few lines about your website and what you plan to do with the free hosting.  We love interesting people and unique projects, and will always recognize an opportunity when we see one.

Best regards,
Bryan and Dave

Out with the Old, in with the New.

Welcome to the new Brius! Well, sort of.

As you can probably tell, we’re still in the process of revamping the current Brius web presence. So while we’re hard at work updating the site, you may notice that some things aren’t working, there maybe a few typos, and every now and then you’ll notice a coding bug or two.

While we haven’t officially relaunched (we’ll be sure everyone hears about it), we are still open and accepting orders. This is a really exciting time for Brius, and we hope that everyone realizes that as well and remains patient with us as we continue to fine-tune all the details.

We’ve got A LOT of things in store for everyone, including the Brius Community, the Brius Blog, modified hosting solutions (including MORE features, MORE space, MORE bandwith, for LESS money), a totally revamped affiliate program that’ll include BIGGER payouts, BETTER rewards, and friendly competition. Over the next few months, you’ll be able to discover the new Brius, and everything we have to offer. Thanks to our AWESOME clients, we’ve finally reached the point where we can take Brius to the next level.

We have a lot planned for you guys this Summer, but in the mean time, keep conquering the web.

All the Best,
Dave and Bryan
